- Bad sleeping habits: most persons have a poor sleeping habits which can be seen with those in unconducive environment such as living in overcrowded rooms, watching Tv late in night, use of mobile phones and computers late in nught and any other activities that can prevent one from going to bed early.
- Eating heavy food late at night: this is similar to the aforementioned cause. Heavy food late at night can make one uncomfortable thereby preventing the person from falling asleep at the appropriate time.
- Other causes that can contribute to disturbing sleep pattern includes drugs (such as those containing caffeine, can alter the sleep center in the brain), antidepressants and those used in the control of blood pressure, diagnosis of new medical conditions, alter the mental function and sudden change in one’s health.
Treatment of insomnia
